Dog Tag Application

The West Perth By-law states that no person shall harbour more than three (3) dogs in an “Urban Zone”, and no more than four (4) dogs in a “Rural Zone” as per By-Law 59-2024.

If you have any questions, please call the By-law Officer at 519-348-8429 ext. 215 between the hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Dog Licences are for the calendar year. The physical tag remains with your pet year-after-year. Replacement tags are available for purchase if yours is lost or damaged.

Any dogs registered as service dogs are exempt from paying and should be registered in person at the Municipal Office.

E-Send Registration For Dog Tag Licences

The Municipality of West Perth is pleased to offer residents the option to receive dog tag licence notices by email. This paperless option helps reduce paper and postage waste while allowing pet owners to conveniently store and access their licence information electronically. With E-Send, notices can be accessed anytime, anywhere you have email access.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. I agree that by submitting this form I will no longer receive paper bills in the mail. All bills linked to this dog licence account, including any subsequent collection notices, from now on will be electronically sent to the email address specified above.

  2. Signing up for E-Send also authorizes you as the sole contact for account inquires via email. It is the responsibility of the customer to inform the Municipality of any email address changes or termination of this billing delivery method in writing.

  3. Please note that by taking advantage of this billing delivery option, your billing cycle, due dates, and payment methods remain the same.

  4. It is the customer's responsibility to complete a new enrollment form if there is a change to the email address where the dog licence is being sent and also to notify the Clerk's Department if a bill has not been received.
